The Story of Arthur Truluv by Elizabeth Berg

A well written novel that evokes the readers' emotions about loss, friendship- and the rewards.
Widowed Arthur. seventeen year old Maddy (who dubs Arthur as "Truluv") and neighbor, Lucille have unlikely encounters, with each other that blossom into a lasting trio of friends. They help one another through heartache and hardship. Ultimately, they are each able to redefine their lives, and fulfill their dreams.
Since Arthur's wife died, he has embraced his cat, Gordon, his rose garden and his daily trips to the cemetery to visit his wife's grave, talk to her and have lunch. There he meets Maddy, a lonely teenager, who wants to escape the struggles she endures at home and at school.
Ultimately, each character creates a life filled with happiness.
